Practical Assistance

A fully equipped ceramics studio is available to focus on a particular area of interest - a recent 2-day workshop was tailored for the professional development of a group of secondary school teachers who wanted a practical workshop on slip casting with printed support materials which they could pass on to students. Please contact me for details and your requirements for workshops. CV available on request.

I have worked at the following universities on short courses or to develop certain skills.

The University of Southern Queensland

In 2019 I gave a series of workshops in wheel throwing.

The University of Queensland

In 2016 I conducted workshops for architecture students focusing on different methods of construction in clay, mainly handbuilding, to help students develop ideas for the design of a pavilion.

Griffith University

In 2007 I worked in collaboration with the Visual Arts department to produce the first series of porcelain slip cast sculpture Biomimesis. I used 3D modelling software and rapid prototyping techniques to develop the source forms.
